Scalp micropigmentation for scaring

Scalp scars can be incredibly intrusive and have a profound impact on how one perceives themselves, often triggering deep emotional distress.

We understand that living with scars is difficult. Visible scalp scars can disrupt your sense of identity and cause significant psychological pain. Here at Muse, we treat this suffering with the utmost respect and compassion.

Concealing a scar requires careful consideration and meticulous planning. If you have a scar that needs camouflaging, we invite you to contact us and share your story. Together, we can work on finding the best solution for your needs. Once we’ve identified the right approach, we’ll guide you through the entire process. Typically, it takes two to four sessions to achieve optimal results, with each session lasting around half a day and scheduled a minimum of 10 days apart.

Our goal is to help you regain confidence and feel like yourself again.

What is SMP for scaring?

The process of camouflaging scars with Scalp Micropigmentation
(SMP) involves carefully blending the linear aspects of the scar with the surrounding skin. This requires smoothing out discrepancies using natural, specialized pigments in varying colors. These pigments are applied directly into the scar tissue while also harmonizing with the surrounding areas.

Achieving this seamless blend demands razor-sharp precision for a truly artistic concealment. The depth at which the pigment is applied is crucial, as scar tissue is often thicker than healthy skin. Scars form when damage occurs to the dermis, the second layer of skin beneath the protective epidermis. Over time, scar tissue can develop its own distinct characteristics, making it challenging to treat.

For this reason, it's not always advisable or possible to treat brand-new scars immediately. Careful consideration and timing are essential to ensure the best possible outcome.

What are the risks?

If you're a candidate for Scalp Micropigmentation
(SMP) treatment, the risks involved are extremely minimal.

However, in rare medical cases, complications can arise, typically due to allergic reactions to pigments, which are often linked to the use of inappropriate products. We use SMP pigments that are specifically designed for this procedure and are entirely natural.

If you have concerns about potential risks or are prone to allergies, please let us know. Risks are generally associated with poor clinical practices, but at our clinic, we use sterilized equipment and high-quality products. If you have any worries or specific risk factors, don’t hesitate to share them with us. We are always here to listen and provide guidance.
